The ‘Girls Nite In’ project is run by youth workers with a range of experience of working with young people. The project is supported by Herts Community Police and Herts Youth Services. Our recent projects have been funded by the Co-operative Community Fund.

The aim of the project is to encourage friendships and trust amongst the girls and adults involved, whilst addressing some of the topics which are relevant to young people today, for example: self esteem, personal safety, health.

The group meets one evening a week for 4 weeks at a venue within the Cell Barnes area. Each week there is a fun activity, which relates to the topic we are ‘looking at’, followed by a discussion. One week we may be making non-alcoholic cocktails and talking about 'safe drinking’, the next we could have a visit by a qualified beautician followed by a discussion on self esteem.
